Among the products and services which were entered in the competition for the traditional fair awards by 14 companies exhibiting at this year’s International Industry Fair, the expert committee decided that golden awards should go to the companies Gorenje Orodjarna d.o.o. and KMS d.o.o. Gorenje Orodjarna received a golden award in the category of manufacturers for its progressive tool for the production of extremely complex pieces of sheet metal, and KMS received the golden award in the category of representatives for its software and construction adaptations of a machine which ensures product quality by ongoing monitoring of parameters and adjustment of the quality of expressed material.
The expert committee consisting of the president dr. Gašper Gantar, dean of College of Industrial Engineering, Janez Navodnik, Director of Slovenian Plasttechnic Cluster, Head of the welding laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maribor dr. Tomaž Vuherer, and Janez Tušek, Director of TKC, decided that in the category of manufacturers the silver award would go to the company Kočevar d.o.o., and the bronze to Inoteh d.o.o. In the category of representatives, the silver fair award went to the company Topomatika d.o.o. and the bronze to VSM ABRASIVES d.o.o.
Fair awards – category of manufacturers
Golden award – Gorenje Orodjarna, d.o.o.
The company earned the award with their progressive tool Gussel LH+RH for producing extremely complex pieces of sheet metal with a tensile strength of 980 MPa. The tool can be used to produce two not completely symmetrical products simultaneously. An additional challenge was the integration of a system for instantaneous rolling of threads in such a hard sheet metal, and the development of the tool involved the most complex engineering methods, construction solutions and surface protection.
Silver award – Kočevar, d.o.o.
The company earned the second place with their machine for resistance welding, equipped with a modern control unit that enables controlling as well as recording of the welding parameters, which is nowadays required by numerous users of equipment. The machine is competitive on a global scale. The parameters that the machine can measure are current intensity, force of pressing and time of welding. Additionally, the machine can also measure the depth of immersion of both or an individual electrode in the workpiece, which is an advantage and a major benefit in such machines.
Bronze award – Inoteh, d.o.o.
The company Inoteh developed a workbench that can be quickly adapted to different users and provides an ergonomic work environment for workers who do assembly or other types of long-term and repetitive work operations.
Fair awards – category of representatives
Golden award – KMS, d.o.o.
The company KMS has a major share on the Slovenian market in the field of plastic processing machinery. They earned the award with their software and construction adaptations of a machine which ensures product quality by ongoing monitoring of parameters and adjustment of the quality of expressed material. The software is an upgrade of a previous version and its technological solutions are always among the first.
Silver award – Topomatika, d.o.o.
With their product GOM CT the company earned second place. It is a device that measures the dimensions of products throughout their volume in a way that is among the most accurate ones of all. At the same time the device enables simple handling and maintenance, which is very important for cost-effective measurement.
Bronze award – VSM ABRASICES, s.r.o.
The company won the award with their VSM ACTIROX, a flexible material for grinding with belts and reels. The company’s speciality is an abrasive granulate that doesn’t wear out. While grinding, the crystal granules or other granules chip away in a controlled manner, keeping the surface sharp at all times. This chipping is achieved by mixing different ceramic components.
