Celje, August 2026 – From 16 to 20 September, Celjski sejem will host the 58th MOS, the largest business and trade fair event in Slovenia and the wider region. Across 30,000 square metres of exhibition space, 650 exhibitors will showcase more than 1,100 brands from 22 countries, with around 50,000 visitors expected to attend. One of the key developments this year is a clearer division of the fair into two main thematic areas – MOS World of Living and MOS World of Business Opportunities. Celjski sejem promises five days of diverse exhibition and professional events, new ideas, practical solutions, and opportunities for both business and personal connections.
This year’s MOS carries the subtitle International Fair of Opportunities and Cooperation, reflecting its central focus on connecting people and creating new opportunities. MOS remains a place where companies seek new business partners and markets, while visitors can compare products and services, obtain information, and find solutions for their homes, businesses and quality of life.
“MOS reflects current developments in the economy and continues to evolve alongside them. Its value lies not only in the number of exhibitors and visitors, but above all in the connections established at the fair, the information people gain, and the business and personal decisions they can make through direct contact with providers,” says Renata Košenina, Director of the Celjski sejem Business Unit.
Two thematic worlds for different visitor needs
MOS 2026 will be divided into two main thematic areas: MOS World of Living and MOS World of Business Opportunities. This division reflects the needs of the two key visitor groups – the general public and business professionals – while providing a clearer overview of exhibitors and making it easier to plan a visit.
MOS Living will showcase solutions in construction, renovation, energy efficiency, smart homes, windows and doors, interior design, outdoor landscaping, heating, cooling and ventilation. Tourism destinations, active holiday opportunities, and local food and beverage offerings will also form an important part of the exhibition.
The focus will be on comprehensive solutions that help users reduce energy consumption and living costs. Visitors will be able to compare different options, test products, and discuss their projects directly with providers and independent experts.
MOS Business Opportunities will bring together entrepreneurship, crafts, industry, innovation and digitalisation. Solutions for companies, craftspeople and entrepreneurs will range from business process automation, financial and HR services to logistics, energy, business consulting and new technologies.
The fair will enable companies to connect directly with customers, test market response, present new solutions and establish business partnerships. Both worlds will be united by the live fair experience – the opportunity for visitors to see, test and experience products and technologies first-hand.
Stronger international participation
Exhibitors from Albania, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Serbia and Slovenia will participate directly at MOS, while brands from an additional 13 countries will be represented through their local representatives.
This year’s Partner Country is Albania, whose companies will present themselves in a joint exhibition area in Hall L1. The programme will also include the Slovenia–Albania International Business Forum: Economic Bridge, aimed at establishing direct business contacts and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts will traditionally take part in the fair, while this year it will also be joined by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia with a group presentation. With its strengthened international participation, MOS is further consolidating its role as a regional meeting point for companies, institutions and business opportunities.
From independent consultations to business forums
An important part of MOS will be its professional and accompanying programme for the general public, industry professionals, the business community and young people.
At the Building and Civil Engineering Institute ZRMK exhibition area in Hall C, individual and independent consultations on building construction and renovation will be available throughout the fair. Visitors will be able to receive practical advice on their projects, while a cinema corner will showcase examples of good practice in construction and renovation.
Current issues in construction will also be addressed at the professional event Roof after a Storm – From Initial Inspection to Quality Renovation and at the round table organised by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia, Is an Architect a Cost or an Investment?, which will explore the role of architects, the quality of design and the long-term value of investment.
The e-Mobility Slovenia Association will organise an open forum on the use of electric vehicles, savings, charging infrastructure, long-distance travel and current e-mobility trends.
Corporate energy resilience will be addressed in the discussion Own Energy Source, Smart Storage, Resilient Company, subtitled Electrification as a Strategic Decision. Industry experts will discuss the integration of on-site solar generation, smart energy storage and the electrification of processes – from heating and cooling to e-mobility. The discussion will focus on when such investments make economic sense, how to implement them effectively, why now is the right time, and what opportunities companies can expect.
Another new feature of this year’s MOS will be guided fair tours for schools, designed to offer pupils and secondary-school students more than a conventional fair visit. Through a carefully structured tour, young people will explore different professions, technologies, entrepreneurial ideas, innovations and real-life examples from the economy, helping them connect classroom knowledge with the real world.
The programme will be adapted to the age of the pupils or students, the school’s orientation and the individual educational programme. Schools will thus benefit from an organised, targeted and time-efficient visit, while young people will have an opportunity to discover companies, potential future employers and fields that may influence their further education and career choices.
The business programme will also include the 2nd Professional Symposium Public Procurement with Vision, the 7th City Conference Alliance for Celje, the Women Entrepreneurs Forum, an event on cybersecurity for small and medium-sized enterprises, a discussion on the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism, and professional meetings on the energy renovation of multi-apartment buildings and the European development framework beyond 2027.
Professor Balthazar at MOS for the first time
A special new attraction for the youngest visitors will be Baltazargrad, a festival attraction from Croatia designed for children aged four to eleven. Every day between 9:00 and 18:00, children will enter the world of Professor Balthazar, discover his inventions and take part in free hands-on workshops at the Balthazar Academy.
As young chemists and builders, they will conduct safe experiments, observe chemical reactions, and build towers, bridges and other structures. Through play, the programme will encourage creativity, logical thinking, teamwork and an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
What’s new at Celjski sejem
This year’s MOS also brings several innovations through which Celjski sejem is enhancing the experience for visitors and exhibitors.
A new Olaii system has been introduced, bringing processes for visitors, business guests and exhibitors together in one place. The entire user journey – from online ticket purchases, registration and invitations to accreditation, ticket validation and access management – is now digital. This represents an important step in the digitalisation of Celjski sejem’s operations and in improving the user experience for everyone attending its events. A limited-time 2-for-1 offer is also currently available online, allowing visitors to receive two tickets for the price of one.
Celjski sejem has also redesigned its website. It is now more modern, easier to navigate and better adapted to the needs of visitors and exhibitors, providing faster access to information about fairs, programmes, tickets, exhibition spaces and participation opportunities.
The MOS Awards 2026 have also been upgraded to recognise outstanding products, services, solutions, projects and exhibitor presentations. Awards will be presented in four categories: MOS Innovation for innovative solutions, MOS Green Solution for sustainability-oriented solutions, MOS Digital for the best digital presence by an exhibitor, and MOS Visitors’ Choice for the best visitor experience. MOS Innovation and MOS Green Solution winners will be selected by an expert jury, MOS Digital will be awarded based on measurable indicators of digital activity, while visitors will select the MOS Visitors’ Choice winner by voting via QR codes.
For the first time, Celjski sejem and the Celje Congress Centre, which forms part of Celjski sejem, will also present themselves together in a joint exhibition area. Visitors and business partners will be able to learn more about the possibilities for organising fairs, congresses, conferences, business meetings, cultural events and other events in Celjski sejem’s flexible venues.
MOS remains important for Celje and the wider region
The impact of MOS extends far beyond the fairgrounds. During the fair, Celje welcomes large numbers of exhibitors, business partners and visitors from Slovenia and abroad, generating a significant positive impact for accommodation and hospitality providers, retailers, transport operators and other service businesses in the city and the wider region.
MOS also strengthens Celje’s profile as a trade fair and business hub. Over the decades, the event has become closely intertwined with the identity of the city. Celjski sejem therefore emphasises that continued cooperation between the fair industry, the city and tourism providers is important for the development of the destination as a whole.
The 58th MOS will take place at Celjski sejem from 16 to 20 September 2026.
